Kenwood Recreation Area

Kenwood Recreation Area is a major launch area for bass tournaments to the Rodman Reservoir and the St. Johns River via the Buckman Locks. It is located on the north side of the Rodman Reservoir off CR315, 6 miles south of Interlachen and 5 miles northeast of Orange Springs.

Historic Significance

  • Kenwood was one of the Ocklawaha River steamboat landings.
  • Kenwood was a little railroad town with a two-story house that was an inn.
  • A ferry was located here serving Cedar Landing, another steamboat stop.
