Welaka

Just off west US 17, across the river from Palatka is the quaint river town of Welaka. Halfway between Palatka and Deland, this is the gateway to the Ocklawaha. You will find the Palatka Lodge with waterfront bar, Anderson’s Lodge and a few other RV parks and fish camps. It doesn’t get much more laid back than this.

If you have a boat, you can head just across the river and up the Lower Ocklawaha River.
